Boarding school for all students in Grades 7 – 12 in cooperation with our partner school RIS (Ruamrudee International School)
Students from Thailand or other countries who look for an option to live and study on our Bangkok campus are welcome to do so thanks to the boarding services offered by our on-campus student residence “Seelos”.
There are not many options in Asia to continue or finish the German Hauptschulabschluss (Grade 9), Realschulabschluss (Grade 10) or the Swiss Matura (Grade 12). RIS Swiss Section is one of the very few schools in the region that offers these graduation options in addition to systematically developing, honing and mastering the German-language skills of students.
Parents who do not reside in the vicinity of Bangkok can accommodate their children in a comfortable, safe environment in one of the most interesting and inspirational cities in the world. The stimulating learning environment created through working in small classes in an international context is another great reason for studying and living in Bangkok
We believe that students benefit tremendously from learning and living in an atmosphere of trust and confidence that encourages them to experience important values, to interact with other nationalities, cultures and religions, and to make new friends.
Our on-campus boarding house called “Seelos Residence” is located away from the crowded inner-city in a quiet and green environment but still very close to parts of Bangkok which are full of life and furthermore, it takes only around thirty minutes to reach the international airport.
“Seelos Residence” provides apartment-like living spaces with private amenities. A well-equipped and comfortable study hall allows students the opportunity to complete their school work in a quiet environment with assistance from a teacher. Recreation and activities, on and off campus, are included as well as the opportunity to participate in athletics, performing arts and extracurricular activities after school and on weekends. The Residence is available for students who would like to board during the school week (5 days) or those who wish to stay through the weekends (7 days).
SEELOS RESIDENCE
The Seelos Residence is a small on-campus boarding facility staffed by qualified teachers who have created a caring, inclusive, student- centered environment. Students who stay at Seelos become part of the boarding community—a version of “family away from home”—with an open-minded, diverse group of students and staff. Moving into a residential setting at any school can be exciting and unnerving, so each student who lives at Seelos is encouraged to get to know the other students, get involved in as many extracurricular activities as they can, and make their best effort to speak English at all times.
Students at Seelos receive daily academic support in the study hall as well as math and science tutors every week. While living on campus gives students more time for academics, it also allows them to become involved in the wide variety of dynamic extracurricular activities on offer at RIS. Seelos students have access to RIS facilities in their free time as well as to a range of organized outings around Bangkok on weekends. While the staff at Seelos promote and celebrate academic success, they also encourage and emphasize personal development, collaboration, and social responsibility.

MEET OUR RESIDENCE COORDINATOR

MRS. ALEXANDRA POWELL – SEELOS RESIDENCE COORDINATOR
“I am an Australian who was also a full-time boarder a long way from my home for six years. My two daughters were also weekly boarders at the school I attended. I come to Seelos with experience of being a boarder and being a parent of boarders. I’ve been working in a boarding department for over six years, so I also know the ups and downs of living away from home and will be sure to help all the boarders settle into boarding life here at RIS. I worked at a British boarding school here in Thailand before joining RIS for the past few years and love living in Bangkok. I have managed to travel quite a lot over the past two years and look forward to more travel in Asia.”
