Primary School (Grades 1 to 6)

On the way to self-organized learning

In the Primary School (Grades 1 to 6), each student is supported in his or her development to acquire skills in various academic and artistic subjects. In addition, the build-up of interdisciplinary skills (increasingly self-responsible, independent learning) plays a significant role in Primary education. A respectful approach to oneself, fellow human beings and the environment, gender equality and tolerance are further conveyed. The education of the children is understood as an important partnership between school and home.

The teaching is based on the Swiss Curriculum 21. The homeroom teacher is the linchpin of everyday school life, as most subjects are taught under the holistic approach. Information technology is used at all ages.

Strong emphasis is put on achieving excellent language abilities in the first and second language (German and English). German is taught from Grade 2 onwards in level groups.

Students with learning difficulties (e.g. Language Arts or Mathematics) can be taught according to individually defined learning objectives or supported by Special Education teachers.

Project and field trip weeks are designed to support lasting impressions and experiences as well as to strengthen the contact with Thailand.

In Primary School, a school day lasts from 7:30 a.m. to maximally 4:05 p.m., depending on the day of the week, grade level and the individually chosen, optional afternoon courses.
