20 years' annivervarsary of Christliche Deutsche Schule Chiang Mai (CDSC)

On 30th and 31st October 2014, the Christliche Deutsche Schule Chiang Mai (CDSC), Thailand's second German School Abroad, celebrated its 20th anniversary.


On this occasion, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, H. E. Mr Rolf Schulze, handed over the award of "Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule" to the President of the School Board, Mr David Naschelta, and to the Principal, Bastian Liebold.


Pastor Rainer Becker, the director of the Marburger Mission, gave a moving speech about "becoming a human" and Heribert Wegmann, the responsible for Asia at the German Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA), also addressed the community.The school was furthermore honoured by the presence of the Princess of Lanna, Dr. Dao Changduan na Chiangmai, and the Thai Honorary Consul in Stuttgart, Ms Marianne Zorn. Among the many musical highlights performed by the students were a special CDSC birthday song and a traditional Thai dance.After the celebrations, H. E. Ambassador Rolf Schulze together with representatives from the school formally inaugurated CDSC's new building.


Its construction had been financially supported by the Federal Republic of Germany and it will be ready to accommodate classes from the coming school year on.
